5. Does my device already have Nokia Messaging?
Depending on the model and firmware version of your Nokia device, you may have Nokia Messaging preloaded. If you are in a country where Nokia Messaging is available, but not preloaded, the e-mail setup application on your device will setup your e-mail address in Nokia Messaging. As an alternative, you can sign up for Nokia Messaging at email.nokia.com.
6. Why do I have to give you my e-mail password?
Nokia Messaging automatically fetches your e-mail messages from your e-mail account as new e-mail arrives. To access your e-mail, Nokia Messaging needs your user name and password.
Nokia does not use your password except in accordance with our Service Terms and Privacy Policy.
7. What if I’m already receiving e-mail on my device?
Nokia Messaging can run on your Nokia device alongside most other e-mail applications without any problems.
However, if you are using Nokia Intellisync Mobile Suite, you must uninstall it before using Nokia Messaging.

When a new e-mail arrives, you are notified with the e-mail alert tone and/or vibration, and the @ sign appears in the menu bar. Newer devices also display the subjects of the latest received messages on the home screen.

No. Your e-mail is encrypted as it travels over the wireless network, to prevent unauthorised access.

You can enable HTML formatting to be automatically displayed in Nokia Messaging. If there are images in the e-mail you want to see, click on Show Images in the header of the e-mail.
HTML formatted e-mails use more data, so depending on your service plan this may mean you pay more to download them. HTML e-mails can only be viewed on some devices running S60 5th Edition or S60 3rd Edition FP1 and FP2 software

You can store e-mail messages for up to one month with Nokia Messaging. These messages are stored in your device’s memory, so you may wish to change the amount of stored messages in the settings on your device.
When you initially set up Nokia Messaging for e-mail you will receive e-mail from the last 3 days, then automatic delivery of new e-mail will begin. Old e-mail is stored to the value you set in the Settings menu.
19. I set up my Nokia Messaging account with my Windows Live Hotmail e-mail address, but I am not receiving any e-mail
Windows Live Hotmail requires the latest Nokia Messaging device software. You may be using an older version of the software. Point your device browser to email.nokia.com and download the software from there. After you install the new version, the Nokia Messaging software will automatically launch. Click the Sync button to begin receiving your Windows Live Hotmail.
20. My mobile device displays an error message about not being able to connect to the internet. What do I do?
Your access point may be incorrectly defined or your mobile device may be out of network coverage. An access point is a setting your mobile device uses to connect to the internet. You can change which access point Nokia Messaging uses in the Settings menu.
Make sure your device is within network coverage and that your access points are correctly defined. If necessary, you can download new access points from Settings (in the Tools folder) on your device.
21. I get a "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification 500: Failure" error when sending an e-mail. What does this mean?
In rare cases, Nokia Messaging cannot send e-mails because your e-mail provider's SMTP server settings are incorrectly configured, or because your e-mail provider will not allow Nokia Messaging to send e-mail through their server.
If you are receiving this error, log into your account at email.nokia.com, select Edit Settings on the account that is receiving the error, select Change Server Settings and remove the information in Outgoing mail server and Outgoing server port. Uncheck SSL Required for outgoing mailserver, and select Save. This will cause your e-mails to be sent through the Nokia Messaging server and should solve the problem.
22. I get an error message when I try to get my e-mail on my mobile device in another country. What does this mean?
Nokia Messaging requires internet connectivity. Most often this error is due to the fact that your operator does not have roaming agreements with operators in that country.
23. I am not getting e-mail on my mobile device any more. What do I do?
